How do I use my cell phone as my work phone?

  1. From the top toolbar, select Settings2. Under theAccountcategory, selectDevices3. Click the blue**+ Add** button in the top right
  2. Select ‘External Device’
  3. Give the device a name such as John Cell
  4. Toggle ‘Enabled’ ON
  5. Assign it to the user
  6. Put the cell phone number of the device into the External Phone Number slot. Make sure to add a ‘1’ before your number. E.g. 18016180000
  7. Press Save
  1. Once a device has been created, select it from the “Location Devices” page
  2. In the left pane, navigate to Voice
  3. In the “Ring Options” pane, click the Edit button in the top right
  4. Toggle ON “FM/FM Open Hours”. This enables your device.
  5. Optional: Slide the Ring Time. By default, your cell will ring at the same time as your desk phone. To avoid both phones ringing simultaneously, adjust the slider back. Most people find 5-10 seconds to be a good starting point.
  6. Toggle ON “Confirm On Answer”
  7. Enter “Confirm Digit” as 1. This keeps your work and personal calls separate. You will press 1 on your phone’s dialpad to connect the call.
  8. Press Save9. Select your initials in the upper right corner, scroll to the bottom, locate ‘Default Devices’, select your newly added cell phone from the dropdown, and ensure ‘Override on device’ is toggled on.New Feature: Call pass through automatically connects calls by selecting the new call option on your cell phone screen, bypassing the need to press 1. The number ‘801-618-0050’ will appear in your phone’s recent history.
  1. Navigate to the desired device: Settings → Devices →‘Name of device’→ Voice
  2. In the ‘Device Line Info’ pane, click the pen and paper in the top right to edit
  3. Change the number under ‘External Phone Number’
  4. Press Save
  1. In Safari, type in my.avidbit.com
  2. Depending on your organization, select Office 365 or GSuite on the Avidbit login page
  3. Enter your credentials (same email and password for your work)
  4. You should be prompted to allow notifications. Press accept
  5. Add it to your home screen by pressing the share button in Safari, and selecting ‘Add to Home Screen’
  6. Enter into the app on your home screen and once again sign in with your credentials
  7. Once you are signed in, click on your initials in the upper right corner
  8. Scroll down and Toggle On “Override on Device”
  9. From the “Default Communication Device”, select your phone. If you do not see it, make sure you followed the steps for Adding the phone. Most people should choose the desk phone as the default communication device
  10. You have successfully paired your phone
  1. Upon receiving a call you will hear an automated voice describing the caller ID details and prompting you to press 1 to answer. The automated voice indicates this is a work call.
  2. Press ‘1’ on your dial pad
  3. Have your conversation like normal
  1. Go into the Avidbit app previously installed
  2. Start typing a number or name into the ‘Dial a number’ field at the top. Press the blue phone symbol to initiate the call OR from the Communicator (Click 3 bars by your initials, go into Apps, go to Communicator) click the blue phone symbol quick action and dial a number
  3. Upon pressing send/dial, the servers initiate a call with your phone first. When you answer, you will hear an automated message describing the caller ID details. Press ‘1’ at any time during the message to be connected through

If you have iOS 16.4 installed, enabling ‘Web Push’ in the sidebar that opens when you select your initials will push notifications to your phone. This way, you do not need to have the app open to receive proper notifications.
